A graceful and distinctive rosary honoring St. Philomena, whom tradition holds was martyred by the Emporer Diocletian, after she refused his marriage proposal and chose a vow of consecrated virginity sometime in her early teens. She was scourged, drowned with an anchor attached to her body, and shot with arrows.

At each of these attempts on her life, Angels healed her through prayer. She finelly died on a Friday, at three in the afternoon, like Jesus. This striking rosary is made of purple tiger eye, a symbol of fortitude, bravery, and resolve. Hail Mary beads vary in hues from purple, magenta, golden brown, rich blacks and other striking jewel tones, separated by petite clear crystal & golden spacers.

Our Father beads are brown mystic quartz with an iridescent ivory to golden brown tone reminiscent of the catacombs of Rome where Philomena's body was found. A scrolled bronze vintage look centerpiece featuring the saint brings a timeless quality. The finishing touch is a strong and substantial Crucifix in brass tones with a sunburst motif behind the head of Christ. Both are made in Italy.
